In 2005, Sharon Williams, President of The 24 Hour Secretary, envisioned that if Virtual Assistants could eliminate geographic boundaries, they would participate in an unifying and educational activity. Determined to bring this vision to reality, and identifying internet technology that could facilitate the international convergence she dreamed of, Sharon founded the Online International Virtual Assistants Convention and brainstormed with personal and professional contacts to form the OIVAC Steering Committee.

By eliminating the traditional financial obstacles of travel, lodging, food and entertainment, the OIVAC offers an opportunity for VAs from around the globe to participate in value-packed, unique learning, training, networking and information-sharing experiences, conducive to the hectic schedules of work-at-home and virtual entrepreneurs.
This Convention is an opportunity for VAs to showcase their abilities, bond with their international counterparts, celebrate accomplishments and acknowledge trailblazers, leaders and VAs providing exceptional professional business support services, globally.
OIVAC is the proud sponsor of International Virtual Assistants Day (IVAD)— a celebration of the Dedication, Experience, Expertise and Determination to Succeed (DEEDS) of all practicing VAs. Friday, May 17, 2013 is designated as IVADay and will be commemorated as part of the Convention festivities.
These activities will support the theme of educating, mentoring and sharing within the global VA community. It will showcase the unlimited business potential of Internet-based entrepreneurs, demonstrating our business acumen, technology, and ability to work virtually.
